DIVIDE...initial illustrator experiments

Here are some experiments on illustrator looking at the term divide and how this could be applied to an existing typeface.
Initially I looked at the definitions of divide on the internet that would give me some kinds of routes to go down with my designs. Divide has a fair few meanings however the majority are worded similarly and are based around separating things into parts, sharing and dividing things between groups.

So these illustrator experiments look directly at dividing the letter into parts. I think they work quite well and a series or sequence of images like these could be very easily achieved, however I am not
convinced with the originality of this idea as I have definitely seen it before. So as an initial look into my word I am pleased however I need to look in more depth at ways of using the definitions I have found to alter the type in more interesting ways.
